Turning Craftwise
We are a quirky little craft, fabric & wool store on the beautiful East Coast of New Zealand, proudly family-run and deeply rooted in the vibrant Gisborne community. Our ties to this region stretch back through generations, with a love for raising our families amidst the warmth and beauty of Turanganui-a-Kiwa.
Crafting is at the heart of who we are. From cosy wools and colourful fabrics to upcycled treasures, we believe in creating, reusing & recycling — turning everyday materials into something magical. Alongside this, Bernina’s storied history in Gisborne holds a special place in our hearts, and we’re committed to carrying that tradition forward with care and creativity.
One of the best parts of what we do is hearing your crafting journeys. The stories, laughter, and inspiration you share with us enrich our little store every single day. That’s why we love running classes and workshops, with a monthly event calendar shared on Facebook, Instagram, and in-store.
Our goal is simple: to be a welcoming hub for makers of all ages and stages. Whether you’re threading your first needle, knitting your hundredth scarf, or just popping in for a chat, we’re here to lend a hand, share a smile, and celebrate the joy of making things together.
So come on in, have a browse, share your story — and let’s keep crafting this community, one stitch at a time. 🌿🧶✂️
